The Cooper is Southbank’s first residential highrise on the South Branch of the Chicago River. The Cooper follows the brand direction set by Southbank — to celebrate artists working in the same artistic traditions once found in the adjacent Printers’ Row neighborhood. Chicago artist Nick Albertson was chosen for his innovative use of photographic and lens-based techniques, continuing in the artistic currents by historic Chicago artists like László Moholy-Nagy.
Nick Albertson’s series WHITE LIGHT was created using special photographic techniques of Post-It notes. An original commission was created for display in the lobby and used throughout the branding materials.
