Span created this short trailer directed and produced by Rick Valicenti, who, in collaboration with designer Jonathan Nesci, re-tooled the Rietveld Chair for Valicenti’s “Time and Change” exhibition. They call their chair GOGO. The animation and accompanying soundscape are inspired by Hannah Barbera’s Saturday morning cartoons, channeling madcap motion and sound effects from the bygone era of The Flintstones and The Jetsons.

i am thrilled to share this preview with all of you because for me these 39 seconds zip right along with a pitch-perfect lo-fi/hi-fi buzz designed around my current vision of me fashioned as some local cable network producer maxing out his gig-economy, underfunded staff, all of whom are in possession of some over-reaching desire to produce a BIG TIME VARIETY SHOW… needless to say, they are stuck, like every other thrill seeker, with a pittance of a necessary budget… I just happen to have 40 years on ‘em.
