GeerHouse, a mixed-use project located in the heart of Durham, North Carolina, is a testament to the city's thriving cultural scene and growing community of young professionals. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this district is renowned for its historical significance and mid-20th-century industrial architecture. GeerHouse aims to enhance Durham’s cultural fabric, blending seamlessly into a community known for its artisans, restaurants, and vibrant entertainment scene.
Span was tasked with creating a cohesive branding strategy for GeerHouse that would reflect the vibrant and expressive nature of the surrounding neighborhood. Drawing inspiration from the vernacular graphics of shipping containers and train cars, our team designed a suite of logos that could be mixed and matched to create dynamic branded graphics. The logos’ consistent proportions allowed for a flexible and adaptable branding system that could be implemented across various mediums.
In addition to the logo suite, Span designed a comprehensive set of brand materials, including banners, stationery, promotional items, and the leasing website. Our goal was to ensure that every touchpoint of the GeerHouse brand conveyed the energy and spirit of the development and its community.
