Designed while at Thirst

A short story crafted around SOM’s urbanism for a new city center in Xi'an, the birthplace of Chinese civilization. This new mega development will be considered an Ecological Business District — catalyzing economic growth while respecting the surrounding environment. Four principals define SOM’s urban design, each a theme for a different neighborhood of mixed uses, each an expression of the national vision of President Xi Jinping.
